My best guess if you’ve come looking for a tiger nickname is that you’re here looking for a nickname for a favoured stuffed animal, either one that belongs to you or a kiddo in your life, like a daughter or son, has and wants to nickname.
If that’s not the case, I would assume you’re here looking for a nickname for a fictional tiger, like a video game character, or a character in a book or other creative piece you’re trying to write. Or even that you came across this post trying to nickname a tiger at the zoo that you’re fond of. But if it’s none of those options – do let me know in the comments section what brought you here, as I’m super curious!

This article was a touch more difficult for me to find options for than most, as I did want to keep the nickname options as on-theme as possible.
I started with a list of nicknames that are entertaining and funny – nicknames like “Sir Pounce-a-Lot,” “Clawdia,” and “Stripezilla” that I feel make really solid nicknames for tigers.
I’ve included a list of pop culture tigers that you can adopt names from if you’re looking for a solid tiger-themed nickname. Of course “Tony the Tiger” had to be on this list, haha! So did “Tigger” from Winnie the Pooh of course.
There are a slew of orange-themed words that would make great tiger nicknames. Ones like “Blaze,” “Inferno,” and “Kindle” that are fire related, but also ones that are just orange-themed in general, like “Rust” and “Saffron.”
I always love nicknames that are based on food names, and just listing “Saffron” wasn’t enough for me, so I included nickname options like “Clementine,” “Mandarin,” and “Apricot” as well as longer nicknames like “Bell Pepper” and “Sweet Potato,” but going with the simple, to the point “Oranges” or “Cheese” are sweet options that I believe also work incredibly well. “Kiwi” for a food-themed tiger nickname works and is super cute if you focus on the fuzziness of a tiger rather than the orange colouration.
For those that like to be more on-the-nose and literal, and find funny, charming nicknames like that to be right up your alley, I’ve also included nicknames like “Whiskers,” “Paws,” and “Fuzz” in a list of words that have to do with tigers and would make great nicknames.
Then for those looking for nicknames that are or sound like real names, I’ve included lists of names that mean tiger or are tiger inspired, as well as a list of words for tiger in other languages that would make great tiger nicknames.
There are a number of different types of tiger, from “Sumatra,” and “Caspian,” to “Amur” – and these would all make great nicknames, so I’ve included a short list of these for you to refer to.
Finally, I’ve got a list of place names – cities, regions, countries, and the like that have tigers in them, in case you wanted a tiger-themed name that’s original sounding and beautiful, but that’s also very tied to tigers in a more unique way.
Let me know in the comments section if you end up finding a nickname to use!
