There are a considerable number of names that work quite well as female necromancer names, my favourites being ones that are quite obvious, like “Morgana” and “Narcissa” and “Lilith.”
There’s a reason why some names are popular – and these, when it comes to female necromancer names – are in top recommendation spots for a reason.

They are beautiful, dark, twisty, Gothic, and downright broody sounding, and I adore them.
That being said, there are a slew of other names that would work perfectly for female necromancers, so if you want something more original, I’ve got you covered with regards to ideas that you can hopefully find the perfect name with.
I find it hard to look through long series of lists that aren’t broken up or organized in any way when I’m looking for a particular name for something, so I’ve done my best to break this post up into sections in case you’re feeling some names over others.

There are a load that are more obvious in nature. I’ve listed a number of names that have meanings relevant to “dark,” “night,” “death,” and the like. But if you don’t care about meanings as much as you care about how things sound, I’ve also found a few other categories that I feel work really well when it comes to finding good female necromancer names in particular.
One of these is a section on the letters and/or sounds that names end with, as I’ve found names that end in “th” like “Morveth” and “Umbreth” sound fantastic as necromancer names.
Names that end with the letter A also strike me as being particularly good – “Umbra” and “Malvara” for instance are exceptionally pretty for this use.
I’ve started with a shortlist of solid female necromancer names for you to browse, then you can hop to the section you like depending on which vibe you’re after. And hopefully you’ll find the name you’re looking for – or at least an idea that sends you off in a direction that will get you the rest of the way there.
Do let me know what your favourite names for female necromancers in the comments. Now without further ado…
